I spent a wonderful evening with the talented and dedicated early childhood center staff at St. James Lutheran Early Childcare Center discussing how to promote preschoolers’ social and emotional competence. We discussed how to use positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) within preschool classrooms, and how to address challenging behavior in an encouraging way across different developmental stages.
